Brook Meakins graduated from the University of Oregon in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in social history, where her thesis on Victorian autobiography earned notable departmental honors.

After getting married, Brook moved to New Zealand to work while she applied to law school. She went to the University of Oregon School of Law from 2006-2009, where she served as President of the Student Oregon Trial Lawyers, the American Constitution Society, and as executive board member for the Women's Law Forum.

She served on the steering committee and as Vice-Chair for the American Civil Liberties Union of Lane County, and she was a Morse Fellow for the Wayne Morse Center for Law  and Politics, an interdisciplinary center for scholars and activists,  dedicated to the legacy of Senator Wayne Morse- the only US Senator to vote against sending troops to Vietnam. She also spent her last semester as a visiting student at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Brook started working at the Dolan Law Firm in May of 2008 as a law student, and now enjoys working in the areas of elder abuse, medical negligence, wrongful death, products liability, personal injury, qui tam, and whistleblower actions. She is committed to working for plaintiffs because of her belief in individual rights and increased individual protections. She is particularly interested in climate-change related torts and has written on the rapidly evolving topic.
